Rural Housing and Community Development

Program Overview

Law participates in government programs that provide guaranteed grants and loans for rural development projects, including single-family, multi-family, and community facilities. We provide project management, design-build, pre-construction, estimating, and scheduling services that support your project from cradle to grave.

Home Repair

Government loan program for low-income families that reside in rural areas that funds repairs, renovations, modernizations, safety & ADA upgrades, storm restoration, energy efficient doors & windows, insulation, high-efficiency heating & air. Grants available to remove safety hazards up to $10,000 and loans up to $40,000 for approved repairs.

Single-Family Housing

Government program that funds low-income households that reside in rural areas to develop home sites; including new water and sewer service and for the design and construction of a new home or renovation of an existing home and site, loans up to $400,000.

Multi-Family Housing

Government loan program and investment opportunity to increase the supply of affordable rental housing for low- and moderate-income individuals and families in eligible rural areas and towns. Includes buying and improving land; and providing the necessary infrastructure. Seeking qualified investors who want to construct smart, sustainable and affordable housing communities.

Community Facilities

Government loan and grant program for Public bodies, Community-based Non-Profit Corporations, and Federally Recognized Tribes located in rural areas with populations of 20,000 or less. Priority is given to low income communities with populations of 5,500 or less. Funds can be used to purchase, construct, and / or improve essential community facilities, purchase equipment and pay related project expenses. Examples of approved facilities include: healthcare, government buildings, community buildings, public safety, educational, utility services, and food bank systems.
